About our team | Mō te tīma
New Zealand is changing, and so are we. MSD is transforming to build a smarter, simpler, more responsive welfare system.
This is a rare opportunity to help shape a once-in-a-generation transformation to deliver better outcomes for New Zealanders. Join a multidisciplinary team driving people-led, technology-enabled change at scale.
About the role | Mō te tūnga
We're looking for Senior Technical Business Analysts to join our multidisciplinary teams and contribute across a range of exciting transformation initiatives.
You'll play an important role in delivering major technology improvements that support MSD's purpose and strategic outcomes, working across a diverse portfolio of projects and programmes. This includes transformation initiatives, digital services, customer-focused platforms, and enhancements to critical business systems.
You will also work with delivery teams, technical specialists and business stakeholders to understand problems, explore options, and shape solutions that work in practice. The work spans business needs, technology and the experiences of the people who use MSD services, so you'll need to be comfortable working through complexity and ambiguity rather than simply documenting requirements.
Other key responsibilities may include:
- Delivering business analysis across digital and technology initiatives of varying size and complexity
- Eliciting, analysing, validating, and documenting business and technical requirements whilst ensuring quality, traceability and alignment of requirements
- Work with architects, developers, testers, and stakeholders to design fit-for-purpose solutions
- Facilitating workshops and engaging stakeholders to define business needs, explore problems, and desired outcomes
- Supporting solution design through options analysis, impact assessments, and feasibility assessments
- Identifying risks, dependencies, and impacts across systems, processes, and customer experiences
- Supporting continuous improvement of analysis practices, standards, and ways of working.
What you bring | Ōu pūmanawatanga
We're looking for analysts who thrive on solving complex problems, engaging with stakeholders, and shaping problems into effective technology solutions.
Experience with Salesforce and/or Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) would be highly advantageous; however, we are equally interested in people who are eager to learn, develop new skills, and grow their expertise in these platforms.
Additionally, you’ll bring:
- Experience delivering business analysis within technology, digital, or transformation initiatives including gathering, analysing, documenting and validating business and technical requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify risks, impacts, dependencies, and opportunities across people, processes and technology
- Experience supporting solution design, process improvement, and business change
- Experience working within Agile, hybrid, or waterfall delivery environments
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and engage technical and non-technical stakeholders
- A collaborative approach and interest in improving how analysis is delivered.
